The squash, having a slightly straighter outline from the fins back will want to crack into a drift slightly earlier than the Nitro for example, so the board offers great top to bottom performance with tight clean lines, finishing off tight reos with a subtle waft to complete the move.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRAILS\u003cbr\u003eLow volume but boxy. A lower volume rail offers good sensitivity as you initiate a turn, but blady rails often mean being forced to run a tight radius tuck in the bottom edge. The narrower nose helps deal with the extra wind normally encountered in larger surf. Too much nose area is notorious for catching the wind and getting hung up on the take off. At high speeds there are higher G forces, so your board needs to be stiffer so it doesn’t over flex and wash off speed. The board in general is also slightly thicker, both these factors help to stiffen up the overall board and deal with the extra power and speed.
